From October 23 to 27, 2024, the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) is set to captivate audiences with an impressive array of events. This year’s festival promises to be extraordinary, featuring over a hundred dynamic programs in the cultural heart of Bali.
Attendees can look forward to a rich mix of thought-provoking discussions, author panels, curated dining experiences, masterclasses, music, film, and exciting poetry slams. The international literary scene will be represented by luminaries such as Amitav Ghosh, the acclaimed Indian author and global thinker; Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize laureate; William Dalrymple, Britain’s renowned historian and author; and Aube Rey Lescure, the Chinese-French-American writer and Women’s Prize for Fiction 2024 nominee.
National literary stars will also shine at the festival. The event will celebrate Soesilo Toer and honor the centennial of his brother, Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Additionally, renowned writer and 1998 activist Ayu Utami, along with popular author Dee Lestari, will be featured.
