Bali Festival

Colorful parade floats and performers during a vibrant Bali Festival celebration

Throughout the year, Bali plays host to a plethora of festivals, each offering a unique and unforgettable experience for locals and visitors alike. The Balinese lunar calendar alone is brimming with local Hindu ceremonies, resulting in regional festivals that occur every month of the year. From Galungan celebrations marking the triumph of dharma, to the elaborate Ogoh-Ogoh parade held on the eve of Nyepi, you won’t have to look far to join a festival that celebrates Bali's rich spiritual heritage. One of the most iconic festivals in Bali is the Ubud Food Festival, held annually in April. This culinary extravaganza brings together renowned chefs, food enthusiasts, and cultural aficionados for a three-day celebration of Indonesian cuisine. The Bali Kite Festival is a must-see spectacle. Held annually in July on the island's eastern coast, this colorful event sees teams from across Bali and beyond competing to create the most intricate and creative kites. Some kites are 10 meters long! The Sanur Village Festival held in August offers the perfect laid back environment for families and kids. This week-long celebration of beach culture includes water sports competitions, sandcastle contests, traditional boat races, and live music performances. In September, music lovers flock to the Sunny Side Up Festival, held at Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak. This music extravaganza features local and international artists across a range of genres, from indie rock and electronic dance music to reggae and world music. In addition to these popular festivals, Bali also plays host to a variety of niche events throughout the year, from arts and crafts fairs, cultural exhibitions, and numerous beach festivals along the shores of Canggu, Kuta, Seminyak and Sanur. Attending a Bali festival is truly the best way to connect with the community. At Rimba Events, we want to help create a more inclusive and interconnected world where everyone feels welcome and valued. From literature to art to food to music, we’ll help you find the best island festival for you.
