Event at Potato Head on October 18 2024: Open Talks: Wine Futures – Local Abundance & Sustainable Winemaking

Join Yellow Sky Tropical Fruit Wine, a small family-run nano winery in Bali, for an inspiring Open Talk about their innovative approach to winemaking. Specializing in wines crafted from local Indonesian fruits like passionfruit, pineapple, and guava, this winery is redefining the way tropical flavors are brought to life in the glass. Before the pandemic, the family immersed themselves in permaculture practices to align their winery with sustainable principles. When COVID-19 hit, disrupting local markets and leaving farmers with unsold fruit, Yellow Sky stepped in—transforming this challenge into an opportunity. By incorporating the surplus fruit into their wines, the family not only created unique flavors but also helped support local farmers during a difficult time. In this engaging session, the family will share the journey of building a sustainable business—from overcoming production challenges to fostering community impact and promoting eco-conscious practices. The talk will highlight how small wineries can thrive while remaining committed to environmental responsibility and empowering local agricultural communities. This event offers a deep dive into how Indonesia’s tropical abundance is being transformed into exquisite wines that reflect a more sustainable future. -Bahasa Indonesia Session: 1 PM – 2 PM -English Session: 5 PM – 6 PM -Admission: Free (Limited capacity) With sessions in Bahasa Indonesia and English, this free event welcomes wine enthusiasts, sustainability advocates, and curious minds alike.
